5.6.11 - Graded Card Of The Day

1981 Topps, being represented here by George Brett

Photobucket

ive written about my love of 1981 Topps here before, but i want to say it again...

i love 1981 Topps. it really was the end of an era. their monopoly was gone and there were two new kids on the block (Fleer/Donruss).

1982 Topps saw the return of "All Star Cards" as well as "In Action" Cards and so the era of "many of the same star cards in every set" began, followed soon thereafter by the "slaughtering of many forests" era of mass over production.

but ahhhhh....1981 Topps Baseball. The much under-appreciated Topps Set of the 1980s

One other thing...these are a true female dog to get in PSA 9 slabs!

  1. Great set, I agree! The hat, the Topps logo, love it.
